Senior Insurance Collections Specialist

Job Summary

Leading the insurance collections team, the full-time Senior Insurance Collections Specialist will manage accounts receivable, resolve insurance claims, and mentor team members while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the resolution of insurance claims and denial management to meet departmental goals
• Maintain communication with insurance carriers and negotiate payments for current and past due accounts
• Conduct audits, training, and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in insurance collections within a large healthcare organization
• Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS)
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office products
• Experience with HMO, PPO, and Medicare insurances
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in healthcare revenue management cycle roles
