Senior IT Accessibility Specialist

Job Summary

Providing subject matter expertise in Section 508 compliance, the full-time Senior IT Accessibility Specialist will work remotely to guide government clients on accessibility policies, draft compliance documentation, and validate software and hardware products for conformance to accessibility standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on Section 508 compliance and Trusted Tester methodologies to ensure adherence throughout the software development lifecycle
• Draft and maintain Section 508 policy and process documentation while consulting on accessibility during procurement and development phases
• Assess, remediate, and validate documents for Section 508 compliance, delivering training on electronic content development and testing

Required qualifications

• Five years of experience in a Section 508 compliance/accessibility program office
• Two years of experience creating policy and integrating guidelines into existing frameworks
• Three years of experience evaluating and validating official communication documents for Section 508 compliance
• DHS Trusted Tester certification
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat for document remediation
