Senior Java Developer
Job Summary
Supporting the sustainment and modernization of mission-critical applications for the Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Java Developer will design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications while leveraging modern technologies such as Spring Boot and microservices in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
- Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues
- Collaborate with architects and senior developers on modernization initiatives
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Strong experience with Java 17+ development and Spring Framework/Spring Boot
- Experience developing REST APIs and web services
- Strong experience with microservices, JPA/Hibernate, Maven, and Swagger/OpenAPI
