To support modernization efforts, the contract Senior Java Developer will evaluate legacy applications, design backend services using Java, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve application reliability while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze legacy Java-based applications to understand functionality and workflows
- Design, build, and enhance backend services using Java and modern API patterns
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify dependencies, risks, and modernization options
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software development experience with strong Java expertise
- Hands-on experience building enterprise applications using Spring Boot and RESTful APIs
- Strong SQL skills, including writing performant queries and working with relational databases
- Experience assessing or reverse-engineering existing applications and producing clear technical documentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams through design, development, testing, and release cycles
