Job Summary
To support modernization efforts, the contract Senior Java Developer will evaluate and enhance legacy Java applications, design backend services using Java and API patterns, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve application reliability while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze legacy Java-based applications to understand functionality and workflows
- Design, build, and enhance backend services to support enterprise-scale operations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify dependencies, risks, and modernization options
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software development experience with strong Java expertise
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs for enterprise applications
- Strong SQL skills, including writing performant queries and working with relational databases
- Experience in assessing or reverse-engineering applications and producing technical documentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams throughout design, development, testing, and release cycles
