Senior Java Engineer

Job Summary

To support a high-impact digital payments modernization program, the remote Senior Java Engineer will manage the integration of a major card network into a large financial institution, focusing on developing and maintaining backend services, domain-driven design, and cloud architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and harden services using Spring Boot, JPA, and PostgreSQL, while designing integration workflows and event-driven architectures
• Build and maintain micro-frontend applications and manage OAuth2/OIDC identity architecture end-to-end
• Drive performance testing strategies and implement continuous testing/automation pipelines as part of CI/CD

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in Java
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, and experience with containerized environments like OpenShift
• Experience with Spring Boot, business rules engines, and integration frameworks such as Apache Camel
• Demonstrated experience in domain-driven design and cloud IAM architecture
• Background in digital payments or financial services technology is strongly preferred
