Senior Java Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the security features of Elasticsearch, the full-time Senior Java Engineer will contribute to the architecture and design of critical security components, focusing on authentication, authorization, and data isolation, while working remotely across various distributed locations.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to core security initiatives from architecture to production, delivering new critical features
• Develop foundational security models and optimize security performance in distributed systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into new customer features and drive vulnerability management efforts

Required qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management, with experience in high-performance, thread-safe coding
• Experience in building scalable authorization systems and understanding distributed systems security
• Solid comprehension of edge identity protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and SAML
• Proven track record of using AI to enhance development and optimize code
• Ability to collaborate across functions and transition between projects in a distributed team environment
