Senior Java Engineer

Job Summary

Contributing to core security initiatives, the full-time Senior Java Engineer will focus on the architecture and design of Elasticsearch's security features, including authentication and authorization, while working remotely from various distributed locations.

Key responsibilities:

• Participate in the technical design, planning, and execution of major security components within the Elasticsearch core engine
• Develop foundational security models and optimize security performance in distributed systems environments
• Collaborate with the InfoSec team to drive vulnerability management efforts and automate security workflows

Required qualifications:

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management, with experience in high-performance, thread-safe coding
• Experience building scalable authorization systems and designing access models for distributed systems
• Solid comprehension of distributed systems security and edge identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML)
• Proven track record of leveraging AI to optimize code and accelerate development
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across functions in a distributed team environment
