Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Senior Laser-Plasma Diagnostic Specialist, the full-time remote role will lead the design, development, and integration of advanced diagnostics for inertial fusion energy experiments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance laser-plasma interaction characterization.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, integration, and commissioning of advanced diagnostics for high-energy-density physics and inertial fusion energy experiments
- Define and maintain the long-term diagnostic strategy and roadmap for current and future experimental facilities
- Coordinate multidisciplinary development efforts and provide technical oversight during diagnostic integration and experimental operation
Required qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Plasma Physics, Optical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in developing or leading diagnostics for laser-plasma or high-energy-density physics experiments
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one diagnostic area, such as optical, X-ray, or charged-particle diagnostics
- Proven experience leading diagnostic development from concept through deployment and experimental operation
- Strong understanding of laser-plasma interactions and high-energy-density physics
