Senior Library Information Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting a federal intelligence information center, the full-time Senior Library Information Specialist will conduct advanced Russian-language research, manage acquisitions of relevant publications, and provide information services to the Department of the Air Force in a hybrid remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced Russian-language research using commercial databases and publicly available information to meet Government research requirements
• Identify, evaluate, and acquire Russian-language scientific, technical, and commercial publications while monitoring emerging resources
• Create and maintain descriptive metadata for the Library's Content Management System, ensuring compliance with Government security and copyright standards

Required qualifications

• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Near-native proficiency in reading and writing Russian, with the ability to translate technical publications accurately in English
• Demonstrated understanding of Russian social, political, scientific, and cultural environments
• Proficiency using commercial and open-source research databases and digital information resources
