Senior Linux Automation Engineer
Job Summary
Focused on engineering and maintaining the Valassis DMT platform environment, the full-time Senior Linux Automation Engineer will engage in hands-on systems engineering, configuration management, and high-availability cloud infrastructure execution in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain configuration modules using Puppet and Ansible for system automation and compliance
- Administer and troubleshoot enterprise Linux environments, primarily Ubuntu, ensuring optimal performance and security
- Operate and optimize virtualization layers, including OpenStack and hypervisor technologies, while managing automated server provisioning
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in Linux infrastructure engineering and cloud automation
- Expert-level experience in Linux administration, particularly with Ubuntu/Debian environments
- Proven mastery in creating Puppet modules and Ansible playbooks for automation at scale
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage architectures and virtualization concepts
