Senior Linux Engineer

Job Summary

Taking hands-on ownership of the Linux infrastructure, the full-time Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer will manage a fleet of servers and virtual machines, ensuring reliability and security while leading automation efforts in a hybrid environment based in Somerville, MA.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and upgrade Linux servers and applications, ensuring compliance with vendor guidance through Ansible automation
• Oversee the vulnerability management process, including scheduled scans, remediation, and compliance reporting
• Lead incident response for infrastructure issues, documenting procedures and maintaining accurate infrastructure records

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of production Linux systems engineering experience with a focus on reliability and security
• Deep expertise in RHEL-family Linux distributions and experience with virtualization platforms like VMware or KVM
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, including authoring and maintaining roles and playbooks
• Familiarity with vulnerability management tools and processes, such as Tenable or Qualys
• Experience with enterprise server hardware and a solid understanding of networking fundamentals
