Senior Loan Counselor

Job Summary

To support effective loan management, the full-time remote Senior Loan Counselor will be responsible for counseling borrowers on loss mitigation solutions, negotiating repayment arrangements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for loans that are 30 days or more past due.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate contact with delinquent borrowers to reestablish payment patterns and reduce defaults
• Negotiate and restructure repayment plans while ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to enhance collection efforts and resolve borrower issues

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of investor and insurer guidelines (e.g., Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) preferred
• Previous experience in collections and default loan servicing preferred
• Experience with call center systems and telephony platforms is advantageous
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and strong data entry skills required
