Senior Long Term Disability Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Managing a diverse and complex caseload of long-term disability claims, the full-time Senior Long Term Disability Claims Specialist will ensure timely and accurate decisions while collaborating with clinical and vocational partners to develop effective return-to-work strategies, all in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the entire claims process from initial intake through resolution, ensuring adherence to policy provisions
• Act as a subject matter expert on LTD claim practices, contributing to the design and refinement of internal procedures and workflows
• Mentor new team members and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver a compliant claims experience

Required qualifications

• Deep understanding of disability contract provisions, exclusions, and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA)
• Experience managing complex claims and developing return-to-work strategies
• Proven ability to document decisions and communicate effectively with various stakeholders
• Strong background in mentoring and supporting team development
• Ability to identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
