Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Machine Learning Engineer will design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for remote sensing imagery analysis, ensuring core data products meet quality, latency, and cost standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement deep learning models for applications such as plume detection and hyperspectral data processing
• Lead data-quality initiatives by collaborating with Data Operations, Science, and Engineering teams from problem definition to deployment
• Mentor team members and contribute to cross-functional discussions on best practices in remote sensing and machine learning

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Earth Science, Remote Sensing, or Artificial Intelligence
• Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow and building ML models using remote sensing datasets
• Proven ability to deploy and maintain production ML systems with a focus on observability and reproducibility
• Solid programming skills in Python and familiarity with scientific and ML libraries (NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn)
• Experience in diagnosing model errors and implementing improvements based on operational conditions
