Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Applied AI team, the full-time Senior Machine Learning Engineer will build and evaluate production-grade machine learning models that enhance member care and drive health outcomes, while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Turn ambiguous clinical and operational questions into well-scoped ML tasks and build strong baselines before adding complexity
• Develop predictive models that identify member needs and trends, collaborating with product engineering to deliver insights to care teams
• Implement self-maintaining models on the ML platform, ensuring their health in production through retraining triggers and continuous evaluation

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building, evaluating, and deploying production-grade machine learning systems
• Strong foundation in traditional ML techniques, including predictive modeling and time-series analysis
• Experience in rigorous evaluation and experimental design, with a focus on identifying biases in real-world data
• Ability to clearly explain model behavior and limitations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Depth in areas such as causal ML, recommendation systems, or NLP-based systems
