Job Summary
To support a long-term project, the remote Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer will design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and IBM MQ while collaborating with business and technical teams to ensure high-quality transaction processing and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, maintain, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and IBM MQ
- Translate functional and technical requirements into reliable, maintainable program changes and technical solutions
- Analyze production incidents, identify root causes, and implement fixes while minimizing operational risk
Required Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL application development and maintenance in an IBM mainframe environment
- Practical experience with CICS for online transaction processing and integration with mainframe applications
- Strong DB2 knowledge, including SQL, data access, query analysis, and troubleshooting
- Experience with IBM MQ for reliable messaging and integration between applications and systems
- Mandatory prior experience in the healthcare or health insurance domain, with exposure to claims-related systems or processes
