Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer
Job Summary
Providing expert support for ongoing projects, the full-time remote Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer will manage the installation, testing, and implementation of z/OS operating systems while maintaining and debugging systems software.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in on-call schedules and incident/problem resolution
- Handle configuration, customization, and setup of parameters for z/OS environments
- Communicate with vendors and contribute to technical projects related to z/OS and its components
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a mainframe environment within a large enterprise or equivalent education and experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of z/OS installation and maintenance, including SMP/E
- Working knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL, and Unix System Services (USS)
- Ability to perform moderately complex ISV installations and understand z/OS security and systems programming functions
