Job Summary
The full-time remote Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer will perform database software upgrades, administration, and tuning for Software AG ADABAS environments, ensuring day-to-day maintenance and providing 24/7 on-call support as part of a scheduled rotation.
Key responsibilities
- Manage database maintenance tasks including backups, restores, and performance tuning
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve database issues and optimize performance
- Document all tasks and adhere to change management policies while supporting disaster recovery efforts
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience with Software AG ADABAS/Natural for administration and systems programming
- Extensive knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and ADABAS utilities
- Experience in a 24/7 multi-database environment managing competing priorities
- Expertise in establishing policies and procedures for database management and security
