Senior Manager, Firmware Development
Job Summary
Leading a team of firmware engineers, the full-time Senior Manager, Firmware Development will oversee the design, development, and delivery of embedded firmware for complex storage products in a hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of firmware engineers, setting goals and execution plans aligned with product roadmaps and quality expectations
- Drive disciplined firmware development practices, including design reviews, defect management, and release readiness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and validation teams to deliver robust firmware solutions and resolve technical issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of embedded or firmware development experience, including significant leadership experience
- 3+ years of people management experience, with a focus on performance management and coaching
- Strong technical foundation in embedded systems and firmware development using C/C++; experience with hardware/software integration
- Proven ability to manage engineers with varying levels of experience throughout full product development cycles
