Senior Manager of Data Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the Motorsports Data Infrastructure and Data Science teams, the full-time Senior Manager of Data Engineering will develop data platforms and AI/ML solutions for GM Motorsports, ensuring the integration of telemetry and strategic tools while actively contributing as a senior technical authority in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop teams to foster a culture of engineering excellence and unify data engineering and data science into a cohesive roadmap
• Own the motorsports data platform roadmap, managing ingestion, streaming, and AI/ML enablement aligned with race priorities
• Contribute hands-on as the technical lead by architecting pipelines, prototyping solutions, and supporting critical issues during race events

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• 10+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or data science, with experience in production distributed data platforms
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering or data science teams while remaining an active technical contributor
• Deep expertise with Azure Databricks and Azure data services
• Proven experience in taking ML/AI into production, including MLOps and monitoring
