Senior Manager of Recommendation Algorithms

Job Summary

Leading a team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers, the full-time Senior Manager of Recommendation Algorithms will drive the strategy and execution of personalized shopping experiences, focusing on recommendations, ranking, and search while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and execution of client-facing personalization systems, balancing various factors such as relevance and inventory availability
• Shape the roadmap in collaboration with cross-functional teams, making tradeoffs across client experience and system complexity
• Drive experimentation and measurement through A/B testing and offline evaluation to improve recommendation outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree or PhD preferred
• 5+ years of experience in designing and deploying machine learning solutions, particularly in recommendation systems or e-commerce
• 2+ years of experience as a technical lead or people manager, with a proven ability to develop technical talent
• Strong technical foundation in production machine learning, including proficiency in Python and experience with cloud infrastructure
• Experience with A/B testing and evaluation frameworks, capable of connecting model performance to business outcomes
