Senior Marine Underwriter

Job Summary

To support the establishment of a new marine insurance venture, the full-time Senior Marine Underwriter will be responsible for building a broker distribution network, underwriting yacht and marine hull business, and representing the company in the UK and EU markets.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and grow the distribution network while driving new business acquisition and maintaining existing broker relationships
• Underwrite new and renewal risks, ensuring disciplined risk selection and pricing adequacy
• Act as the primary market-facing representative, enhancing the company's reputation and commercial performance in the marine insurance sector

Required qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in marine hull underwriting with a proven track record of profitability
• Established relationships within the London Market and a recognized market presence
• Strong technical skills in risk assessment, pricing, and policy structuring
• Experience working within a delegated authority framework, such as an MGA or coverholder
• CII qualified or equivalent preferred
