Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

To support a critical construction project, the full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer will review and validate mechanical design packages for a factory project in Austin, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards while coordinating with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate mechanical design packages, including HVAC, plumbing, and cooling systems, ensuring compliance with IMC, IPC, NFPA, and local AHJ requirements
• Coordinate with the Engineer of Record and General Contractor to resolve RFIs, design conflicts, and constructability issues
• Independently manage contractor submittals and drive RFI closure throughout the construction phase

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in mechanical design for industrial or manufacturing construction projects
• Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ICC, ASHRAE, and NFPA
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with experience in Navisworks for clash detection
• Experience with local AHJ permit review processes, particularly in Austin or Texas
