Senior Nuclear Engineer
Job Summary
To support innovative nuclear engineering projects, the part-time Senior Nuclear Engineer will conduct research on materials for nuclear reactors, manage technical requirements, and collaborate with industry partners to ensure safety and compliance in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research on new materials and studies related to radiation detection and control
- Manage programmatic and technical requirements for planning documents and engineering-scale facilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and develop radiation safety protocols
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in nuclear engineering
- Familiarity with various nuclear codes and standards as well as common nuclear engineering software
- Ability to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE-Q) clearance
