Senior Onchain Investigator

Job Summary

Owning complex onchain investigations, the full-time Senior Onchain Investigator will analyze threat actor infrastructure and scam networks, operationalizing findings to enhance security measures in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end investigations into illicit activities targeting Coinbase and the crypto ecosystem
• Develop and implement OSINT and onchain analysis pipelines to automate detections and improve investigative efficiency
• Lead post-incident reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate threat mitigation strategies into product development

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of investigative experience, including 3+ years focused on onchain illicit activity or cryptocurrency abuse
• Deep understanding of blockchain ecosystems, protocols, and tracing techniques
• Proficiency in Python or Go and SQL for data analysis and tooling development
• Experience creating investigation methods and dashboards adopted by other investigators
• Ability to communicate complex technical analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
