Job Summary
To support a growing coding department, the temporary remote Senior Orthopedic Surgery Coder will accurately assign and sequence ICD-10 and CPT codes, resolve coding issues, and ensure compliance with coding standards over a 3-month assignment.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately assign and appropriately sequence ICD-10 and CPT codes along with applicable modifiers
- Research and resolve coding-related system edits, payer rejections, and insurance denials
- Monitor regulatory and payer changes affecting diagnostic and procedure coding
Required qualifications:
- Active coding credentials such as CPC, CCS-P, CIC, COC, or CRC
- 5+ years of experience in professional medical coding, specifically in advanced orthopedic surgery coding
- Strong experience with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and global surgery guidelines
- Previous experience as a Senior Coder, Coding Auditor, or QA Analyst preferred
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar EHR systems
