Senior Performance Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Firefox Performance team, the remote Senior Performance Engineer will write code, analyze performance bottlenecks, and educate engineers on developing performant software while leveraging a variety of programming languages, primarily C++ and JavaScript.
Key responsibilities
- Write code and tests, build prototypes, and profile performance issues across various platforms
- Educate cross-functional teams on performance best practices through code reviews and documentation
- Define and drive actionable steps to improve performance benchmarks and strategies for the team
Required qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience
- Mastery of programming in C++ and familiarity with JavaScript
- Proven experience in developing performance-critical software and debugging performance bottlenecks
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and profiling tools like VTune or Xperf
- Demonstrated ability to set team goals and align cross-functional teams to achieve them
