Senior Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Owning and evolving critical DNS infrastructure, the full-time Senior Platform Engineer will manage Vultr's DNS systems, contribute to API development in PHP, Go, or Rust, and drive automation practices while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and operate Vultr's DNS infrastructure at scale, including recursive and authoritative DNS
- Maintain and evolve the PHP-based DNS API, contributing to its modernization
- Diagnose and resolve complex DNS and network incidents, serving as a subject matter expert
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or systems engineering in a production environment
- Deep hands-on experience with DNS at scale, including DNSSEC and troubleshooting
- Strong Linux systems engineering fundamentals, including networking and operational ownership
- Experience building or maintaining APIs or automation layers, with proficiency in PHP and/or Go or Rust
- Demonstrated experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tooling
