Senior Policy Data Analyst

Job Summary

To support a growing team focused on criminal justice reform, the full-time Senior Policy Data Analyst will manage complex data analysis projects, utilizing SQL and Python to model policy scenarios and communicate findings to stakeholders, all while working remotely with occasional travel to state partners.

Key responsibilities

• Building analysis from corrections and parole data to articulate system behaviors
• Modeling policy scenarios and quantifying tradeoffs using statistical methods
• Communicating findings effectively to decision-makers and tailoring presentations to motivate action

Required qualifications

• 5 or more years of experience exploring, analyzing, and processing complex datasets
• Professional experience using SQL with large datasets and high proficiency in writing efficient queries
• Proficient in Python, particularly with pandas, for statistical analysis and data visualization
• Strong statistical background to reason about analysis design and prepare robust analyses
• Experience scoping and delivering analytical work while balancing depth and speed under shifting priorities
