Senior Principal AI Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Commercial AI Center of Excellence, the remote contract Senior Principal AI Engineer will set the technical vision for AI-as-a-Service, lead complex initiatives across multiple teams, and establish enterprise standards for AI model training and orchestration.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the multi-year technical vision and enterprise standards for AIaaS, acting as the final technical authority for complex AI challenges
• Define and own the enterprise model-training strategy, including hands-on training and fine-tuning of AI models
• Architect the orchestration layers of the central AI system and establish standards for data management and retrieval systems

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in AI/ML software engineering with a proven track record at the Senior Principal level
• Hands-on mastery of training and fine-tuning AI/ML models and orchestration of large language models (LLMs)
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture
• Strong command of data management, including dataset storage architecture and governance
• Experience in designing developer platforms and APIs that support multiple teams
