Senior Principal AI Engineer

Job Summary

To support the technical vision for AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) enablement at enterprise scale, the remote contract Senior Principal AI Engineer will serve as the principal technical authority within the Commercial AI Center of Excellence, overseeing the entire AI lifecycle from model training to production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the multi-year technical vision and enterprise standards for AIaaS, acting as the final technical authority for complex AI challenges
• Define and own the enterprise model-training strategy, including hands-on training and evaluation of traditional AI/ML models and LLMs
• Establish standards for data sourcing, governance, and architect large-scale data pipelines to support AI systems

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years in AI/ML software engineering with a proven track record of delivering production AI at enterprise scale
• Hands-on mastery of training and fine-tuning AI/ML models and LLMs, including parameter-efficient methods
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture
• Strong command of data management, including dataset storage architecture and PII handling
• Experience in designing developer platforms, APIs, and multi-agent orchestrations
