Senior Principal AI Engineer

Job Summary

To lead the technical vision for AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS) at enterprise scale, the contract Senior Principal AI Engineer will operate remotely, managing complex AI initiatives, establishing enterprise standards, and mentoring engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the multi-year technical vision and enterprise standards for AIaaS, acting as the final technical authority for challenging AI problems
• Define and own the enterprise model-training strategy, including training, fine-tuning, and evaluating AI models as needed
• Architect the orchestration layers of the central AI system, establishing standards for tool design and retrieval systems

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years in AI/ML software engineering with a proven track record of delivering production AI at enterprise scale
• Hands-on mastery in training and fine-tuning AI/ML models and LLMs, including parameter-efficient methods
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture
• Strong command of data management and governance for training data
• Experience in designing developer platforms and APIs that support multiple teams
