Senior Principal Engineer

Job Summary

Taking technical leadership of strategic projects assigned by the CTO, the full-time Senior Principal Engineer will work remotely to design, deliver, and oversee complex systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring other engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on high-priority projects, ensuring successful design and delivery across multiple teams
• Architect scalable systems and drive improvements to maintain adaptability in response to business and technology changes
• Act as a senior technical counterpart to enterprise customers and internal stakeholders, facilitating cross-team discussions to resolve dependencies

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years at a principal level leading complex technical initiatives
• Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and API design with OpenAPI
• Proven experience designing distributed systems and data pipelines on cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• Strong judgment on security, reliability, and operability, with clear technical writing skills
• Ability to influence stakeholders and explain technical tradeoffs in business terms
