Senior Principal Engineer

Job Summary

Guiding the technical direction and architecture of multi-disciplinary robotics projects, the fully remote Senior Principal Engineer in R&D Digital will act as a bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders while ensuring successful commercialization of robotic-enabled joint solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define system architecture and project scope, making core engineering decisions and managing third-party outputs
• Lead technical project execution, resolving design conflicts and promoting engineering best practices in collaboration with project management
• Translate business goals into technical requirements, ensuring cross-functional collaboration among various teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics, or related discipline) from an accredited institution
• Familiarity with medical device design controls, verification & validation, and relevant regulations/standards (e.g., FDA 510(k)/PMA processes, ISO 13485)
• 10+ years of relevant product development experience in robotics, electromechanical systems, or medical devices
• Demonstrated experience defining system architecture and making high-impact engineering trade-offs for multi-disciplinary programs
• Strong software/controls familiarity (e.g., ROS, C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink)
