Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Senior Principal Forward Deployed Engineer will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML-powered solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to influence product direction and maximize business value.
Key responsibilities
- Code across the entire Atlassian product suite, providing broad engineering exposure
- Architect and implement robust application integrations focusing on APIs and microservices
- Oversee the end-to-end deployment of AI solutions into production, ensuring continuous evaluation and improvement
Required qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in backend software development, with at least 5 years in a principal/staff-level role
- 5+ years of experience delivering impactful AI/ML solutions in production environments
- Deep expertise in applied AI/ML, including generative AI and LLMs
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages, with experience in APIs and microservices
- Experience with AI risk assessment, data privacy, and compliance (e.g., GDPR)
