Senior Principal UX Designer

Job Summary

Owning user experience and interface design within an Extreme Programming (XP) product team, the full-time Senior Principal UX Designer will lead continuous user research, synthesize findings into actionable designs, and collaborate closely with engineers and product managers in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ongoing user research, including interviews, usability testing, and field observations to inform design decisions
• Synthesize research findings into personas, journey maps, and user stories to guide product priorities
• Prototype designs quickly and validate them with users before and after release, ensuring usability and accessibility standards are met

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional UI/UX or product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating impactful research case studies
• Deep experience in planning and conducting user interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing
• Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, and working knowledge of HTML and CSS
• At least 2 years of experience working as an embedded designer on an XP team or equivalent agile practice
• Strong interaction design, information architecture, and visual design skills
