Senior Product Owner
Job Summary
To support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Quality Payment Program (QPP), the remote Senior Product Owner will own and prioritize team backlogs, translate complex requirements into actionable work, and coordinate delivery across teams and contractors.
Key responsibilities
- Own and prioritize backlogs for the Self-Nomination, Targeted Review, and EPCS teams in alignment with CMS priorities and user needs
- Partner with CMS business owners to define product goals, maintain roadmaps, and balance policy commitments and operational support
- Translate CMS policy and stakeholder needs into features, user stories, and testable acceptance criteria while leading backlog refinement and sprint planning
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience delivering software through Agile teams, including substantial experience as a product owner or product manager
- Demonstrated experience owning product backlogs and developing user stories using tools such as Jira and Confluence
- 3+ years of experience with healthcare IT programs, including healthcare data and policy-driven requirements
- Ability to successfully obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust designation
- Experience supporting CMS or federal healthcare IT programs, with familiarity in QPP and MIPS preferred
