Senior Property Accountant

Job Summary

Managing comprehensive accounting operations for a diverse real estate portfolio, the full-time Senior Property Accountant will oversee full-cycle accounting, prepare financial statements, and analyze budget variances while working remotely from locations such as Chicago, Austin, or New York.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned commercial properties, including accounts payable and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare timely financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP and client-specific requirements
• Analyze budget variances and provide insights to property managers and clients to support decision-making

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4-6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in commercial real estate or property management accounting
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Advanced proficiency in property management accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with CAM reconciliations and tenant billing from an accounting perspective
