Senior Security Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the University's information security posture, the full-time remote Senior Security Engineer - Governance and Compliance will lead the implementation of security tools, develop compliance strategies, and manage incident response activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and configuration of security tools to protect information assets and ensure compliance with security standards
• Monitor and assess risks related to privacy and identity theft, providing governance during the systems development lifecycle
• Communicate risk findings and develop remediation plans in collaboration with service and technology owners

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
• Ten years of progressive experience in Information Security roles, with at least six years of hands-on experience
• Security-related certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
• Experience with compliance regulations such as SOX and GLBA
• Strong understanding of IAM and cloud security practices
