Senior Software Developer
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Software Developer (Production) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document issues and communicate statuses to users and senior management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain system asset inventory
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related fields, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency with AWS and/or Azure Cloud, including experience with S3, Step Functions, and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with experience in system administration tasks
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, and scripting languages like Python or Bash
