Senior Software Developer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Software Developer (Production) will provide high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies while managing large-scale production systems.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving system outages
- Document and report problems accurately while communicating with users and senior management regarding system statuses
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with automation tools and cloud-native technologies
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Experience with database systems and CI/CD pipelines, as well as knowledge of secure best practices for production systems
