Senior Software Developer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Software Developer (Production) will manage high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical issues, and ensure compliance with security policies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform operational support and maintenance for cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document problems and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain system asset inventory
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with S3, CloudWatch, and automation tools
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting languages like Python or Bash
- Experience with database systems such as AWS RDS SQL Server and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
