Senior Software Developer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs operations, the full-time Senior Software Developer (Production) will provide high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of production systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document system issues and communicate status updates to users and management while maintaining system inventory
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with scripting languages for automation
- Strong background in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and knowledge of database systems and performance tuning
