Job Summary
Driven by innovation, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and scale AI-enabled enterprise systems remotely, supporting modernization efforts for a major healthcare agency while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Support CMS's modernization efforts by developing scalable, AI-enabled enterprise systems that enhance data accuracy and transparency
- Design and implement full-stack applications using modern backend frameworks and dynamic frontend technologies
- Lead backend development focused on performance optimization and contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience in building and scaling production-grade applications
- Strong backend expertise in Python and modern API frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar)
- Solid frontend experience with React or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and working within microservices architectures
