Job Summary
Hands-on and innovative, the remote Senior Software Engineer I will architect and build the observability platform, focusing on metrics, logs, and distributed traces while ensuring seamless integration with various systems and driving internal product adoption.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and build the observability platform, managing end-to-end capabilities for metrics, logs, and distributed traces
- Run observability as an internal product, creating published interfaces and ensuring reliability for engineering teams
- Drive instrumentation with OpenTelemetry, maintaining shared libraries and ensuring correlated signals for service teams
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building and operating scalable distributed systems or observability infrastructure
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, Java/Kotlin, or TypeScript/Node.js
- Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry and building high-volume data or telemetry pipelines
- Strong skills in REST API and integration engineering, including event-driven architectures
- Computer Science or Engineering degree, or equivalent practical experience
