Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
To enhance engineering quality and lead modernization efforts, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will work remotely, collaborating with government stakeholders and product teams to define technical vision, ensure system parity with legacy functions, and make architectural decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Define the technical vision and modernization strategy in collaboration with clients and the delivery team
- Ensure that the modernized system maintains parity with essential legacy functions while introducing improvements
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination to unlock dependencies and ensure steady progress across the modernization effort
Required qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience working with COBOL Mainframe applications
- Significant experience in IMS, DB2, VSAM, CICS, MQ, Jes2, JCL, and TSO
- Working experience in IBM and CA utility programs
- Understanding of CICS processing and flow
- Familiarity with how mainframe systems interact with other unconnected systems through messaging platforms
