Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To build and scale backend systems for user identity and privacy, the remote Senior Software Engineer will design and implement services and APIs, contribute to large-scale migrations, and define authorization logic while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and build backend services and APIs that enforce identity and privacy rules across product surfaces
• Contribute to migrations from legacy identity patterns, ensuring safety and backward compatibility
• Define and evolve authorization logic for context-scoped data access, addressing edge cases effectively

Required qualifications:

• 6+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with strong fundamentals in service-oriented architecture and API design
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin, with experience in a microservices environment
• Experience designing systems with correctness and authorization as primary concerns
• Demonstrated ability to ship migrations or infrastructure changes that other teams depend on
• Strong written communication skills for documenting problems and proposed solutions
