Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support the VA's Beneficiary Travel Self-Service System (BTSSS) program, the remote Senior Software Engineer will enhance and maintain API services and backend systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions in agile sprints.
Key responsibilities:
- Enhance and maintain Travel Pay API and Claim Ingest API for BTSSS
- Develop integrations with VA.gov and the VA API ecosystem, ensuring reliable services for claim processing
- Participate in coding, testing, documentation, and code reviews while supporting CI/CD workflows
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Experience in backend service development using modern programming languages
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrations
- Understanding of cloud deployment patterns and automated testing
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues collaboratively
