Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Building and owning critical components of the Trase OS platform, the full-time Senior/Staff Software Engineer will design reliable distributed systems, develop platform APIs, and ensure correctness in workflow execution, with opportunities for remote work or positions in Seattle, WA, or McLean, VA.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own critical components of the core execution model, focusing on state machines and lifecycle management
• Develop reliable distributed systems that maintain predictability across retries and partial failures
• Mentor engineers and contribute to design reviews, establishing strong engineering patterns across the platform

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building distributed/platform systems with a focus on architecture across teams
• 4+ years of experience owning mission-critical runtimes or workflow/orchestration systems
• Deep expertise in durable execution methodologies, including state machines and idempotency
• Proven track record with security and governance in production systems
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to influence design decisions within a team
